In a sauce pan on medium heat, add Oil, Onion, Garlic, Anise, and Cinnamon. Heat Oil until Oil starts bubbling, then simmer for 20 minutes, (until Onion, and Garlic is browned).
Remove from heat.
In a bowl add Red Pepper Flakes, Ginger, Soy Sauce, Mushrooms, and Salt. Strain the Oil into the bowl, retain the strained solids. Mix bowl contents, allow to cool. Add strained solids into the bowl.
Keep refrigerated.
